October Daybook

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW::
Still a warm fall day - but not quite as hot.  My plants are still living!

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO::
Just the sound of the air conditioner and the clacking of my fingers on keys.
Along the lines of music, I've been on a John Rutter kick lately.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO/DREAMING OF ::
Colder weather!  I love the coziness of fall.

THANKFUL FOR ::
Friends who are learning lessons alongside me!  What a gift it is to be able to talk about what God is teaching me with like-minded journeyers.

PONDERING ::
I am watching our church as a body working through and talking through various things together :(What does real forgiveness look like? How do we help one another with belonging?  How do we balance inreach and outreach and where is my particular place in all of that? How can I pray for you specifically this week?  How can I be vulnerable when it is so terrifying?)  The conversations are good and scary and exciting and full of God's gentle pruning.  I'm here for it.

REMEMBERING ::
Summer Sledding:  My mom would pull us down the hill on a huge piece of cardboard at our old cabin in the hills of Indiana.  I still feel the happiness of it, bouncing along on our cardboard sled while my mom ran down the hill until her bun fell off her head.

TO LIVE THE LIFE ::

This is carved in the corners of my heart these days:
       Nothing in my hands I bring
       Simply to thy cross I cling.

TOWARDS RAISING HUNGRY LEARNERS ::
This is usually a very inspiring section for me.  But right now?  I got nothin'.  :) But I have been amazed (again) at how much kids pick up when you don't even realize they're paying attention.

A FEW PLANS FOR THIS WEEK::

A QUOTE I LOVE:

Isn't this beautiful?  Don't you just know people like this? Their woundedness makes them so rich.
