Rachelle's Senior Recital

by sarahmfry, March 12, 2011
My youngest sister, Rachelle, is a senior at GBS.  She is a music ed/violin major.  Her senior recital was Tuesday and we went to Cincinnati to celebrate and be with her.  She did an amazing job.  I am so super proud of her.
Deanna was her teacher from preschool through her senior year of highschool.  Since then, she has studied with the amazing Mrs. Sandy Collins (pictured with her below).

We had a lot of fun making special food for the reception.  The kids and I were in our dipping glory.

We dipped strawberries and pretzels and cherries and just about anything we could get our hands on.  Aunt Crystal came over and dipped with us.  She also made some beautiful and yummy peppermint bark!

Oh, the sprinkles and the drizzles!

At home, Uncle Garen told the kids a spellbinding (and hilarious) story.

I didn't get many pictures at the recital itself, because my arms were full of the very active Corin-boy.  It was fun to watch him be-bop to the various lively tempos.

Her recital repertoire:

Sonata No. 3 - Jean-Marie Leclaire
Legende - Henryk Wieniawski
Meditation from Thais - Jules Massenet
I'll Be a Sunbeam - Edward Burkkart

It was a beautiful repertoire, with over an hour of completely memorized music.
She has worked her little tail off!

After the recital, Corin found a cute little girlfriend....

The reception was beautiful and fun
Corin with Rev. Benny Durr - who is the pastor of my parents' church.  We love this man.

Lucas Ryder, who had recently completed his own recital, congratulated Rachelle from experience.

Before I left Cincinnati, Dad asked me to snap a picture of them to email to a pastor for a campmeeting they're singing for in Idaho...I included it because they're awesome and I love them.  : )
